About University of Arizona South Continuing Education (UASCE):

The UASCE program is directed by John DeLalla. He is currently working on a doctoral degree in educational leadership. His technical background is in Cisco Networking, Project Management and web-related technologies. In addition to UASCE-related duties, John also teaches undergraduate classes at UA South and manages the BAS Degree in Network Administration.

Prior to working for the UA in Sierra Vista, John worked on main campus with UA Computer Education, and previously hired for IT positions in Tucson. Before moving to Tucson he worked in the Flagstaff/Grand Canyon area in IT and project management for government organizations. On the fun side, John worked for Disney, and lived on the road with the Goo Goo Dolls for a time. He brings the unique perspective of serving the customer/student and the professional angle of what employers are looking for in IT staff.

George Lameyer

After selling his computer business in Illinois, George moved to Wisconsin to begin a career in teaching IT at a local Technical College. During this period he earned certification as a Microsoft Certified Trainer. In 2001 George moved to Arizona to take a position as Training Manager for the two retail computer stores in Tucson. After the stores closed post 9/11 George continued to teach for the local community college and the University of Arizona while working as a network consultant and lead technician for a local IT firm. In 2008 George joined the UA South full time teaching computer repair, networking and security at the University of Arizona South in Sierra Vista.  George loves to share his knowledge with others in his A+, Network+, Security+, CISSP and MS Project classes. George lives in Sierra Vista with his wife of 30 years and two dachshunds.

The UASCE program has a wide variety of instructors and technical experts on staff for teaching and assisting with classroom operations. More information can be found about the instructors by contacting the UASCE office or on day one of your class.

 

Other Services

    On-Site Classes:    Need six or more staff trained at once on the same topic? Have UASCE come to your location to provide training. Classroom setup requirements are flexible and course curriculum is completely customizable.

    Custom Classes:    Just because it's not listed on our website doesn't mean we can't teach it! UASCE can develop custom classes based on your specific needs. Contact us to learn more about this unique outreach and wonderful service.

    Training Room Usage / Rental:    UASCE can work with you to customize a classroom for your custom training needs here on the UA South campus. Rental fees are paid directly to a 501c3 that supports the campus. Lunch and other services can be included. Please contact us for details at 266-1715.

    College Credit:    UASCE classes are offered as a non-credit outreach to the community. However, non-UA (through a variety of Arizona community colleges) undergraduate, lower-division elective college credit is available through an outside organization for a fee. Please contact us for more information on how to take advantage of this option.

    CPE/PDU Credits:    UASCE classes are eligible for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) or Professional Development Units (PDUs.) A typical 40-hour UASCE class is worth 4 units. Classes not-taught by UASCE can be reviewed and awarded credit for a small fee. Please contact us for more information about granting UASCE credit for your in-house classes.
